McIntosh
This is a very good eating apple when freshly picked, but may not stay crisp in storage as some varieties do. It is a great cooking apple for pies, apple bars, etc. It cooks to a soft slice and has a tart flavor that really goes well with cinnamon in baked goods. It is outstanding for applesauce as it cooks down to a smooth sauce with an excellent apple flavor.

Gala
This is a very good eating apple that is firm and sweet. Galas are often on the small size but that makes them a great lunchbox apple for the kids because they will eat the whole apple!

Cortland
This is a versatile eating, salad, and cooking apple. We use this apple in all kinds of salads, especially the Chicken Apple Salad from the Dexter Cider Mill cookbook. It is a white flesh apple that does not brown and has a tart/sweet taste that really enhances a salad. The skin is deep red and makes a natural pink applesauce.

This is an excellent eating apple – very juicy and crisp. All apples store well under refrigeration and Honeycrisps really do stay crisp and juicy if you keep them cold. They will be sold on a first come, first served basis, no orders will be taken. They're always a popular September apple choice at our orchard!

Empire
The Empire is an all-around apple, good for eating, salads, cooking and baking. It is a medium sized apple, (except this year they are small) that stores very well and is easy to work with. We use Empires for dried apples, as they are are tart and when dried a real strong apple flavor is obtained.

Golden Delicious
This is the perfect all-purpose apple. We use it for every type of baking. We especially like to slice them and add to a beef or pork roast that is slow cooked with onions. Goldens keep their shape in a slice, grated or make great chunky applesauce. They really add deep apple flavor to any dish. Goldens store well when refrigerated. It is a medium sized apple, rich in tangy sweet flavor, excellent fruit to eat out of hand for a snack at any time.

Idared
When we first decided to start an orchard the Ida Red is what sparked our enthusiasm. This is a beautiful, great tasting, traditional apple. We use this apple for everything – chunky applesauce, pies and apple bars, muffins, apple pancakes, dried apples, with roasted meats. It is a dense flesh apple that stores very well over a long time period. This apple will always be our family’s favorite and our apple pies will definitely have Ida Reds in October!

Snowsweet
This is a new apple for us. The trees are young and building on yield. We don't have a big supply but if you hit it right you may be able to get a small bag. This is like a HoneyCrisp, sweet and crisp, ripening later in the apple growing season, mid October. It is nice to have a sweet, crisp apple in October!
